When should I book my Wedding cake?
​
This is the most commonly asked question. It is all a matter of date availability and therefore the answer is the sooner the better. As soon as you have your date confirmed, if I am fortunate enough for you to chose Cake Inspirations as your cake supplier, then I suggest starting the booking process as soon as possible.

It may be that you request to book in 2 years before the set date but I am already booked and unable to help, but also possible that you contact me with just three months to go and I am available.

When should I book my celebration cakes?
I usually say that 8 weeks in advance is generally enough time to allow for availability, however, there will be times throughout the year when I am unable to take bookings so please do check in with plenty of time.

Do you offer a delivery service?
I only offer a delivery service for Wedding cakes.

Is delivery and set up at my Wedding venue chargeable?
Generally all delivery and set up costs are covered within the cost of your wedding cake for our local area. Weddings further afield may incur a small additional fee but you will be advised of this before booking.

How far will you deliver my Wedding cake?
​
I will consider travelling to any local venue, and also to venues further afield, but please do check first. As a family we have been known to deliver a cake and then take the opportunity to discover somewhere new for the day!

What is the best way to transport my celebration/novelty cake?
Wedding cakes will always be set up by us, whereas celebration and novelty cakes on the vast majority of occasions are collected from us at a pre-arranged time. Once you have collected your cake it is your responsibility to keep your cake safe.
We always recommend transporting your cake in either the footwell of the car or if necessary in the boot, which is free of anything that may fall and cause damage. Travelling with it in either of these places is the most secure and avoids too much movement.
Please DO NOT travel your cake on a car seat under any circumstances. The seats are not level and the cake can easily move when you are travelling.

How do I store my cake once collected?
Of course we will always have bursts of fine weather which poses more of a challenge through the year, but generally just keep your cake in the box provided, in a dry, cool place out of any sunlight until it is needed. Please do not refrigerate your cake unless directly told to by us, as the sugarpaste will become sticky.

Do you make cakes to cater for allergy sufferers?
I am happy to make cakes using the appropriate ingredients to cater for allergy sufferers, however, I work in a home based kitchen where, gluten, egg, dairy, nuts and other allergens are used so I am unable to guarantee your cake would be free of any specific allergen.

Can I cancel my booking?
​
We understand that situations can arise and the need to cancel your booking may be unavoidable. Every booking is secured with a non-refundable 50% deposit. As I base my availability around the bookings in the diary, and therefore limit the number of bookings we can take in any one week we are afraid that deposits are not able to be returned in the event of cancelation.
Any booking cancelled within 7 days of the order due date will be subject to full charge. If you need to cancel your booking please inform us as soon as possible.

What can I do if I am not happy with my cake?
​
In the unlikely event that you are not happy with your cake please talk to us. Many issues are likely to be easily solvable and we are always here to help. We take great pride in the cakes that we produce, and no cake leaves the kitchen that we wouldn't be happy to use for our own events.
If you have already collected/received your cake and you have a complaint, please safely store the cake back in its original box with additional wrap if needed, message and return to us within a day and we will go from there.
